Gasagase payasam / kheer is an authentic and traditional recipe of Karnataka. Its made with coconut milk , well roasted poppy seeds & copra. Its one of the classical south Indian kheer recipes. In Karnataka its prepared during the festival seasons and celebrations. Unlike other traditional rice or vermicelli kheer recipes, it has a unique taste and flavour derived from gasagase or poppy seeds.
